Alright, so I'm all done with the Anthony Perkins portrait. Like with the Eli Roth picture, I kind of flaked when it came to the hair. I don't know what my problem is. I think it turned out alright here, but I'm not 100% happy with it. I think it's better than the Eli Roth picture ended up though.
As you can see, I ended up not drawing the skull showing through like in the movie. While it could have maybe been cool looking, it also (more likely) would have been stupid looking and wrecked the picture. I think it works just as a straight portrait of Anthony Perkins.
I'm diggin on the super extra blending. It might not necessarily work for every picture, but it really seemed to work out well for this one.
It's almost all 2B mechanical pencil with a couple little hints of 4B (mostly in the eyes and the darker places in the clothes) and blending with a paper towel. I used a kneaded eraser for the highlights.
Man have you got talent!
The details on there is simply majestic!
The shading and blending... the depth .. the details... I am so impressed!!
The hair is perfect!!
I have seen many drawings in my days .. but this takes the cake.
Yeah, they were like that in the original photo too... I wasn't sure if I should even it out in my picture or not. I figured that since it was such a dark (thematically) picture that it probably would work better to keep his eyes dark... but I don't know. Maybe you're right.
